I like the club I’ve built and think we will certainly win a few games, but youth will be our undoing. Due to the shallowness of the talent pool in this first season, a lot of teenagers will play a lot of minutes.
Specifically, we start the season with two teenage goalies, Grant Fuhr and Bil Durnan. While Fuhr is higher rated than my next best goalie Victor Brattstrom, he had a rough pre-season. I’m hoping I can allow Durnan to just develop for this year.
Our top line is strong, with Sebastian Aho between Tyler Bertuzzi on the left and a young Gordie Howe on the right. The talent drops a bit after that, but a young Eric Lindros will help the cause on the second line.
The club gave up 21 goals in 7 preseason games, including two 5-goal games and only one shutout. Since this is the first season, I’m not totally sure what to make of the wins and losses in the preseason. The overall record was 3-3-1, not a record that predicts the “team to beat” title given the club in the season preview.

If it helps, I wouldn't pay too much attention to preseason results!
