Just did a test: I traded a player with minimum ($10,000) salary for a player on a team in the lower league on minimum salary ($5,000). My old player retained his $10,000 salary with his new team and the player I received got a salary increase from $5,000 to $10,000.

Would you mind dropping in here or PMing me a screengrab of your Financials settings in this league? I tinkered with some of the presets from the original quick-start and I'm sure I probably unintentionally changed something in there.
