The best statistical run by a pitcher in baseball history?
I'm in year 2010 of my Giants franchise. Barry Zito has won 6 consecutive Cy Young awards and has, in my opinion, had a statistical run that beats any in the history of baseball. Here are his stats from 2004-2009. I'll put the basics down. If you want any more info, let me know.
2004:
23-8, 2.13 ERA, 271 IP, 173 H, 68 R, 70 BB, 220 K, 4 CG, 3 ShO
2005:
26-5, 2.38 ERA, 245.1 IP, 160 H, 67 R, 80 BB, 192 K, 6 CG, 4 ShO
2006:
24-6, 1.69 ERA, 276.2 IP, 139 H, 55 R, 62 BB, 208 K, 4 CG, 2 ShO
2007:
23-5, 1.97 ERA, 282.2 IP, 158 H, 68 R, 101 BB, 216 K, 14 CGB, 4 ShO
2008:
28-2, 1.55 ERA, 290 IP, 126 H, 57 R, 88 BB, 195 K, 15 CG, 3 ShO
2009:
27-4, 1.37 ERA, 302.1 IP, 129 H, 50 R, 82 BB, 221 K, 24 CG, 11 ShO
Anyone have a string of 6 years that tops this?
