I was thinking, what would be fun is if I had a 16-team playoff, and did the playoffs the way that the NHL used to. Intradivisional matchups. So in the AL East semifinals, #4 vs. #1, #3 vs. #2. The winners would meet in the AL East Final, and that winner would face the AL West playoff winner in the ALCS.

Maybe I could add that later on, but I think at the beginning of the century, I'll just have the division winners go to the playoffs.
