My brother got the OOTP 23 and FHM 8 bundle for me today, but I haven't had a chance yet to install and/or activate and/or play its games. Maybe once I get enough additional work done for my main story, at least, I'll have enough time to do so easily enough and all. But seeing as my birthday's now about three and a half months away, I don't anticipate me doing so anytime soon, somehow, unless I can make a great deal more progress on the story by then, if not complete its entire first draft.

Talk more later, as time allows and all, I'm sure. I spent much of today periodically trying to win at Civilization IV on its Noble difficulty level, and not having much success in that sort of thing, unfortunately. Which is usually the case for me, to be sure, whenever I play Civilization IV games, whether they're the vanilla Civilization IV games, Warlords expansion games, or Beyond the Sword expansion games. I can almost never stay caught up technology-wise by the time I reach the middle of the game, more or less. And that is if I actually have a sufficiently good map to play on for much of the game, at that, often. CD out.
I've never played Civilization IV. I looked it up, and I see that it's an empire-building game. Only kind of game that I've played that might be somewhat similar was Sim City, when I was much younger. I used to like building my own cities. So I wonder if I might like the Civilization games. Sports games have always been my favorite, although as I kid I spent many hours playing the Super Mario games, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Contra. RBI Baseball was the first sports game that I truly loved. Blades of Steel and Ice Hockey were up there as well. Then Sega Genesis came out and the NHL Hockey series by EA Sports consumed all of my time.

One reason why OOTP is the best game ever is that I care more about what happens in my fictional league than real-life baseball. My Yankees got swept by the Astros, and I wasn't even all that upset by it.
