Agree with the post above me. IMO, the playoffs should be treated as an entirely different beast. What works in the regular season, rarely works in the playoffs from what I've seen. For example, the Dodgers have this long running analytics idea that starters shouldn't go more than 5-innings; however, in the playoffs, it "looks" like teams utilizing starters in an old school way tend to fare better. I don't have the data to back this up yet, but something I'm looking into. Another example is Moneyball versus Smallball. The teams executing small ball well (Padres, Guardians, etc.) are doing very well this post season where teams living and dying by the long ball are not (Yankees, Atlanta, etc.).
This has definitely been a fun postseason to watch thus far.
