Today the new Major League Baseball kicked off its inaugural season in Boston, Cleveland and San Francisco as the Baltimore Clippers took on the Boston Bulldogs, the Chicago Rockets played the Cleveland Blackhawks, and the Los Angeles Bruins took on the San Francisco Gold.
Baltimore and Boston played a close match as Eddie Robinson hit a bottom of the 8th HR to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 win.
In Cleveland the Blackhawks Curt Simmons held the Chicago Rockets to just 4 hits as the Blackhawks won 8-1.
San Francisco, at home, scored 2 in their first inning, but Los Angeles battled back to tie the game 4-4 with 2 runs in the top of the 9th. But the Gold would not be denied as they got a run in the bottom of the ninth to win 5-4.
