Just under 400 U.S. national players (non-NHL) through 2005 draft.
There are a couple of duplicates for possible d.o.b. variants. Also I've duplicated a couple of NHL players for name variants:
e.g. Al Lacroix/Frenchy Lacroix, Arthur Smith/Art Smith etc...so all options covered.

I'd forgotten Evel Knievel once played hockey.....
