Stroman has a $21M player option for the 2024 season. So instead of taking $21M for 1 year, he became a free agent and signed a 4-year $70M deal with a contender? I'm not seeing the issue. Or was it a four-year deal at $4.375M per year for a total value of $17.5M?
Had you extended him in 2022 to take out the $21M option year and give him an opt out and two more $25M seasons?
What did you offer him in free agency that he turned down to join the Braves?
