Walkers news: April 17 -- Los Angeles 3, St. Louis 2

Record: 6-10, 5th/(Tied/w. Quad City), 5.5 GB Des Moines
Trailing 1-0, Los Angeles got to St. Louis starting pitcher Ming Xiang for three runs in the top of the sixth inning and that was enough to carry the Turtles to a 3-2 win at Busch Stadium (2006).
The victory was the second of the three-game series for L.A.
Pitcher Travis Mayr got things rolling for the Turtles when he led off the top of the sixth with a single off Xiang.
Jordan Lawlar followed with another single, putting runners at second and third.
After a strike out, David Johnson tied the game with a double.
With Josh Ames at the plate, two pitches later, the Turtles were in front as Xiang uncorked a wild pitch allowing Lawlar to score.
When Ames swung his bat, he singled to score Johnson and make it 3-1.
Ryan Wibbenmeyer drove in a St. Louis run in the bottom of the sixth with a single off Mayer as the Walkers pulled to within 3-2.
That, however, was the end of the scoring.
Mayr (1-1) went 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on five hits. He struck out five and walked three.
Ben Aughenbaugh got the final out of the sixth for L.A.
After that, it was Sam Gibb for two scoreless innings and Jose Patricio for one.
Patricio earned his second save.
