Luke Voit, who spent one half-season and postseason with the Rays between stints with the Yankees, did his former team in today with a 3-run homer off Landon Knack in the 7th to give New York a 5-2 win and a 1-0 advantage in the ALDS. Aside from that though, the big story was Yankee pitching, which held the Rays to only 5 hits. Brennan Malone came on in the 5th and dominated the Rays over 2 1/3 while the Yankees came back to tie it up off James Hays, who turned in a pretty good start. Michael Prosecky will now be trying to keep the Rays from falling into a deep hole in this series tomorrow.
