Both situations are screwed up but the latter jumps out at me more, and the latter is what autocalc gives you while the former is what you get without it.

The problem apparently isn't with autocalc but with fictional player generation, but autocalc makes the problems with generated players more obvious.
Which is fine in the context of it may be a v23 problem. It should not lead to users thinking autocalc is something to avoid just because someone posted, now or in the past, saying just that. IMHO there are too many features that get a "that doesn't work" but neglect the "for me" or "IMHO" part. Followed by suggestions to "stay away" etc.

The OP simply asked if after 60 yrs if he should run it. The answer of "don't fix what isn't broke" is a fair answer and one I agree with.

With regard to v23 and player generation...

I play out all games so progress is slow. I'll get in probably three seasons with v23 meaning whether fixed in a patch (if there is a reproduceable bug) or for v24, I'll probably not see much of an issue. FWIW I started OOTP in the steroid era where the boppers were almost routinely hitting 60+ HR, IRL and OOTP. With autocalc it was simple to lower the LT and then get the new LTM to get my game where I wanted it. v18 through v22 with multiple seasons played I've had one guy hit 60 once (I liked seeing this outlier), 50 ish on occasion, and even a year where 38 was the high. Again, maybe v23 has an issue with player generation and, if that's the case then going down the "autocalc bad" road is not the answer.

I did post the screen showing my actual data. I have done so in the past, just not a picture, to show how accurate it works in my game. This doesn't mean distribution is perfect. Distribution is a totally separate topic. I'm just trying to put some balance to the autocalc question for those that read the tread
