Analysis
The CBO season has hit 50, and what can we say but that the season is as exciting as ever. There are some races happening around the league, but most of the Top 5 are entrenched and probable to remain in at least the Top 10 for the final 58 games. Here are the Top 5 and how they performed this week.
#1 Fort Hagen - They started out with a shaky early week, losing both games at home to Nordhagen Beach (#2). However, the weekend was all theirs, as the Shroud pounded Concord (#17) into submission with the sweep. Fort Hagen now has a seven-game lead in the Institute League over three teams and a one-game lead for supremacy over the Party Boys for the CBO's top record.
#2 Nordhagen Beach - The Boys were perfect this week and now they are on a six-game winning streak. In addition to their wins over the Shroud, Nordhagen Bech also won all three games at Salem (#21). Even though they have not been hot before the solid week, the Party Boys still maintain an eight-game lead over two of their Brotherhood League rivals. Not only that, but the Boys from the Beach have now swept Fort Hagen in both series they have played in 2302.
#3 Diamond City - Every time Roxbury (#6) tries to take over the Railroad League, the Swatters swat them down. This week, Diamond City used a 4-1 week to maintain their one-game lead in the RL. The Swatters swept Quincy (#16) and then won two of three at Vault 81 (#11) to do it.
#4 Atom - Dropping down this week thanks to a 2-3 week, the Cats still hold on to a slim lead over Jamaica Plain (#5) in the Minutemen League. Atom split with the Dwellers and then lost two of three at the Red Rockets to close out their week. Jamaica Plain now trails by one game for both the ML lead and top record in the South Charles Association.
#5 Jamaica Plain - As mentioned, the Rockets gained ground on the Atom Cats. Jamaica Plain went 3-2 on the week, to move from a 2-game deficit to just a 1-game deficit. In addition to the win over the Cats, the Rockets also split with Oberland (#23).
Announcement: 2303 Moving to 120
With multiple public transportation sites moving into early testing phases, the CBO and Commissioner Nate Howard have announced that the CBO schedule will expand for the second time.
This time, each team will start the season on a home or road stand with other teams in their league with teams from the other association for a one-game regular season battle against each team in the opposite association.
How will it work? At the beginning of the season, teams from the Brotherhood League will either host or travel to teams from the Minutemen League or Railroad League one week. The next week, they will do the opposite, either hosting or traveling to teams from the Minutemen League or Railroad League. The Institute League will do the same as the Brotherhood League.
For an example, the Weeks 1 and 2 schedule could look like this:
Week 1: BL at ML, IL at RL
Week 2: RL at BL, ML at IL
Since all 12 teams from the North Charles Association will play all 12 teams from the South Charles Association, the schedule will move from the current number of 108 to 120 games. That is twice the number of regular season games that were played in 2296 and 2297!
We cannot wait to see what it will be like for new matchups in games that count!
