I'd like to do a purely fictional 4-level pro/rel set up.
I have watched the very helpful tutorial by Decathalon Gamer (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1EOnxrMy_E) and think I understand the basics. I have two questions remaining which I hope some kind soul here can help me with:
1) Minor Leagues and Pro/Rel: If teams at each level of the pyramid have AAA, AA, and A for example, what happens in the event of a promotion or relegation - i.e. do their minor league affiliates move to the corresponding minor league of their new tier ? My preference would be to have no minor leagues at all and have an old school system where teams pay cash for the contracts of promising prospects playing at lower levels, but I'm not sure if this would work out well in the absence of soccer-style loans, affiliation agreements between teams, etc.
2) Amateur Leagues: Is it possible to set up a purely amateur league, whose teams - while independent themselves - will provide a a sort of farm ecosystem for the bigger clubs? I know you can "turn off financials" for a league but I wasn't sure if this would make the league operate in an isolated vacuum from the rest of the universe or if this option essentially results in an amateur league.
Thank you very much for any insight you can provide.
