Here’s an extreme example that unfortunately happens. My starter goes out in the late innings, walks the opposing pitcher on four pitches that (thanks, pitch widget) are not close. That tells me my guy is gassed, and needs to come out immediately. I gotta hope i have somebody already throwing. With “RISP”, i miss all this drama. With “runner on” I will know it sooner, and maybe avert a catastrophe.
