i haven't purged anything since V 17. what i found out, yes it reduced the size of my league nicely, but it also changed the player ID numbers - so (for example) i have Carl Hubble in my HOF as player #1456 (number is just an example.) After The purge, that number goes to some other player. So when i click on Carl Hubble in my HOF room, someone else pops up. The game runs faster - but the player ID #s are really a walk down the rabbit hole. as a result, i've never used purge again. Has anyone used it in 22 or 23? i am assuming it does the same thing. even with back-ups (which i do every 7 sim game days) i still am leary of using it.
one good thing about the purge there is a warning before the purge begins the above will happen. Wish i'd paid more attention and taken the warning to heart. i guess another wish is somehow they could fix the purge issue not to renumber, but at least, i do understand why it happens so i have just avoided it. i am pretty certain it'd be a major programing issue to change the way the purge tool works, and probably not worth the time and effort for how often it gets used.
