I don't think I have ever not understood your feelings on "make this work now".
I was bored to death watching that and thinking how fun it would be to play that way.
To me it screams for what I have been asking for, GM reputations and personalities that shut this kind of thing down. A guy gets a few bites at the apple and then the other GM will finally "have enough" and hang up the phone. The human player would be "labeled" by AI GMs as someone that simply is a waste of time to talk to. Problem takes care of itself once the human player has nobody to trade with.
Why does a player shutdown contract negotiations so quickly but a GM won't shutdown trade talks at all? This is where OOTP needs to go IMHO.
But until something like what I ask for is done (GM reputations) I could care less how someone cheats them self in a solo environment.
Would I like to see it all work better? Of course. Can I live with it "as is"? Again, of course. It's very easy to do in a solo environment.
