The roster export/import I don't think is meant to be able to "add" players generally speaking. You can use it to move players around and edit, but if I recall, it's not really meant as a way to "merge" leagues together, which sounds like what you want to do.

What I would suggest instead if you want to do something like that is to make sure each leagues you want to combine get exported as templates, and then you can import them in together to the same game. Now, that might duplicate your MLB if they were both there, and if there are players that appear in both files (ie. if Verlander exists both in your league and in the new MLB setup). But at least they would all be in the same file, and then from there you could go through and delete duplicates, move players between teams, etc... either through the general roster functions or now using a proper export with the new player and team IDs in the combined file.

If that doesn't work, you could file a support ticket and see if the team there can help further. The more custom the setup, and the more elaborate way of combining things together, we can't promise to be able to handle it. But there's usually a way somehow

This is similar to what I did to get accurate minors in my EBL vs MLB league around 2015 IRL. I took the MLB quickstart for OOTP 15 and deleted all ML players & coaches and teams leaving just the minor leagues. I deleted any players that I knew where in my EBL vs MLB at the time. i then saved it as a template and made sure that the dates of each league matched and imported the minor leagues in my world then assigned each team to their Ml team. Only problem I have now is it duplicated all retired players. I am still deleting duplicate McCovey's & Waners, & Lopez. So I suggest you delete all retired players as well.
