I have played every version of OOTP for the past 10-12 years. One thing that is apparent is that everyone plays the game differently and has their own definition of “fun”. Personally, I have never experienced 95% of the issues and errors that I have read folks complain about. I am not at all saying that those issues aren’t in the game, just that I have not seen them. What I have seen are “fixes” that made the game less enjoyable to me. And some folks say that the fixes aren’t enough, yet my experience is that the fixes have gone too far.

OOTP will never be a “perfect” game because every player’s likes and dislikes are different. And there is no way to program On/Off switches for every possible settings that may or may not show up in the baseball universe. For every hundred players who want some features, there are a hundred more players who want those features disabled, and other features added. OOTP is already a game that takes several hours just to customize to my liking. And that’s just the settings that I understand.
