How fun is opening packs? LOL. I love opening packs, and that's why I like tournaments.

Part of the main attraction for many is that without tourneys, you really do have a limited selection of cards that can make your team and everything else is meaningless. I can see where the game would be boring. If you play in tourneys, you'll have another 100 cards that you're constantly looking to upgrade for your tourney rosters. It just makes the game a lot more fun to be working on multiple rosters.

Copying rosters is not the best advice - it's not bad advice, but there is a more variety than you'd expect - in my experience only a handful of teams are fully optimized. You have to do the work yourself if you really want to have the best squad.

Also - In-season achievements supplement tournaments, not the other way. The packs are not insignificant - anyone here will tell you they get 10-20 (or more with some guys) packs a day. I've actually kept record, and I get about 18 packs a day. That's just from running your teams in tourneys, check it every few hours for 2 minutes.

The packs do, over the long-run, give out fairly close to what they cost. So while you might make 10K a season in achievements, you'll make more than that in pack returns on an average DAY from tournaments.

Who doesn't want to open 20 packs a day without having to use any of your PP? It's definitely a fair trade-off, and I hope you reconsider. Always nice to have new players in the tourneys! I'd recommend running 3 quick tourneys as a time, all Iron and Bronze, to get started.
