It's a hard problem but after all this time it shouldn't be in as bad a spot as it is. If you click the "balanced schedule" checkbox on the default MLB setup it gives you a garbage schedule where the teams don't even play the same number of games. There's no excuse for that. If you can't figure out how to generate balanced schedules, don't provide the option. It's a terrible project management failure to leave landmine "features" that don't work and break your game if you try to use them scattered throughout your game.
