Honestly, it's a visual mess, not user friendly and has been left in a poor state for way too many iterations of the game now.
Information is scattered everywhere:
Pre-game stats bottom left of screen, in-form players top right.
Post game power play and shots per period stats right at bottom of long scrolling screen.
Key/main information not presented clearly enough:
Actual result of game buried away in top left - it needs to be one of the main focal points that catches your eye.
Reading scorers is mess as they are separated by penalties for each period - there should be two distinctive columns, perhaps alongside each other to reduce amount of scrolling.
Accessing team stats from game - again wayyy too much scrolling to get to the information we need. Perhaps tabs at top to flip to them easily or something.
Information not showing at all:
Starting goalie stats were replaced by a pointless playing cards which serves no purpose. The cards which they were sacrificed for don't even look aesthetically pleasing.
Out of town scores don't show.
2D simulation:
I've tried to like this, believe me I really have, but I just cannot take to it. The icon sizes, poor detailing of name/number the movement, even the corners of the rink are rounded completely wrong. It just doesn't look like a hockey simulation.

Good points. And adding to this, on post game screen and on yesterdays result panel on the manager page, when in the playoffs, have the won games in brackets next to the score. There is no way to see how other playoff ties are going other than to go to playoff tree.
