Walkers news: June 30 -- St. Louis 13, Louisville 6

St. Louis jumped out to a 9-0 lead after just 3.5 innings, and the River Walkers cruised to a 13-6 win over Louisville at Dodger Stadium.
The victory gave the River Walkers their second win of the three-game series.
St. Louis seized control early with a five-run top of the first inning against Sluggers starter, and former Walkers pitcher, Josh McDonald.
The Walkers banged out three hits and a walk in the first five batters -- including RBI singles from Joe Allen and Nick Shaw -- before Nolan Gorman delivered a three-run home run.
An RBI double from Mike Vaughan in the top of the third made it 6-0.
Ryan Wibbenmeyer led off the three-run fourth with a double off McDonald, which ended his outing.
Brad Kennedy took over and gave RBI singles to Manuel Coke, Gorman and Tony Urbalejo over the span of the next six batters as the St. Louis advantage reached 9-0.
The Sluggers did make it interesting scoring once in the fifth and four times in the sixth, chasing Walkers starter Kevin Hrdlicka.
But St. Louis scored twice in the both the eighth and ninth to break it back open again.
The Walkers had 19 hits in the game.
Gorman was 2 for 5 with a homer and five RBIs.
Coke was 3 for 4 with thee runs scored and an RBI.
Hrdlicka went 5.1 innings, allowing five runs on nine hits. He struck out one and walked one.
Alex Rios finished the sixth for St. Louis.
Leo Hermosillio and Chris Willett both worked scoreless innings.
Frank Jimenez (0.2 IP) started the ninth, but got into trouble allowing two hits, a walk and a run scored.
Brett McVey got Jose Gonzalez to hit into a fielder's choice to end it.
