Tied 2-2 going into the bottom of the fourth inning, St. Louis scored at least once over the next four innings -- tallying six runs altogether -- to power its way to an 8-3 win over Peoria at Busch Stadium (2006).
Early on, Chris Gibbs connected on a two-run double off Rivermen starting pitcher Brad Monroe in the bottom of the first inning to give the River Walkers a 2-0 lead.
Peoria matched that in the top of the second on a Jeff Neiderer two-run homer off St. Louis starter Miguel Cisneros.
The Walkers took the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth.
Gibbs connected for his second double, this time leading off the inning.
St. Louis then connected on back-to-back triples from Zach Wenman and Rich Dodson to make it 4-2.
After the Rivermen scored in the top of the fifth, the Walkers answered with one in the bottom of the inning.
Ryan Wibbenmeyer led off with a single off Joey Thacker.
A wild pitch moved Wibbenmeyer to second.
Wibbenmeyer scored on a two-out single by Joe Allen.
St. Louis tallied twice in the sixth.
Two singles and a walk against Jim Mitchell loaded the bases with one out.
Pablo Ochoa took over only to give up an RBI single to Nick Shaw.
Manuel Coke then drove in a run with a deep fly to center.
The Walkers capped their string of run-scoring innings in the seventh.
It happened with three straight singles off Lorenzo Mascorro to open the inning.
Allen and Wenman struck first. Dotson then capped a three-hit game with an RBI single.
Cisneros (4-3) wasn't as good as his previous outing where he shutout Cedar Rapids, but he was still pretty good allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings. He struck out seven and walked one.
Kyle Smarr, Ron Cox and Josh Joyce all pitched scoreless innings of relief to close out the game.
