Walkers news: May 24 -- Colonel out as hitting coach replaced by Cerreto
The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the firing of Christian Colonel as hitting coach and the hiring of Phil Cerreto as his replacement.
Colonel was in his fifth season as the Walkers hitting coach but had seen the team average drop to a low .237 this season.
The Walkers had hit .271 as a team in 2038 and no lower than .262 in its four season under Colonel.
The 51-year-old Cerreto has never worked above the minor leagues.
