The Rays took a split of the two games in Baltimore while the Yankees did likewise with Boston so the division lead remains at 3 games.

Slade Cecconi was hit for 3 homers in the opener and the Rays dropped a 5-2 decision to the Orioles. Cecconi (3-4) went 5.1 6 4 4 2 4 in the loss. Heston Kjerstad had a consolation solo shot (#24) in the 9th while JT Realmuto made his Rays debut and went 0-4.

The Rays homered their way to a 6-4 comeback win over Baltimore with Dominic Scavone's 3-run blast in the 9th (#12) giving them the win, Scavone's 2nd game-winning hit in 3 games since returning from an extended IL stay. The first three Tampa Bay runs came on solo homers with a pair from Andrew Greckel (#16 & 17) and Heston Kjerstad again (#25). Joe Ryan wasn't very sharp in his start (5 6 3 3 5 3) while JT Ginn (4-3) picked up the win despite allowing a go-ahead homer to Baltimore in the 8th. Yasunari Uehara dispatched the O's 1-2-3 in the 9th for save #15.

Team record: 57-40. Next up: Back to the trop for 3 vs Boston.
