Feature: Pam's Picks
Opening day is here, and it's time for the illustrious assaultron, P.A.M., has made her picks. Based on her selections shown below, PAM has picked the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys to defeat the Diamond City Swatters for the Sole Survivor Series.
Based on her predictions, the following teams will be in the playoffs:
North Charles Association
1. Nordhagen Beach
2. Fort Hagen
3. County Crossing
4. Concord
5. Salem
The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys are PAM's pick to repeat as CBO champions. The Party Boys are expected to take their league by 5 games and outdistance the predicted winner of the Institute League, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, by 7 games.
At the bottom of the standings, the Sunshine Tidings Chemists look to continue their losing ways, though the bottom of the North Charles Association is not as far away from playoff contention as they could be.
For PAM's MVP and top pitcher picks, there is an expected close race for one and not so close for the other. PAM has picked Nordhagen Beach's Jonathan Angelou to take the top players award with the Shroud's Ben Pawlak and County Crossing's Babs Rooth being the heaviest contenders. At pitcher, the Boys' Beachboy Nut is expected to be the top pitcher by far. The Bugs' Whip Lashley and Fort Hagen's Derek Green are expected to be other top pitchers.
South Charles Association
1. Jamaica Point
2. Diamond City
3. University Point
4. Atom
5. Egret
PAM believes that the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets will make the jump to the top in the South Charles Association, slightly edging out University Point for the Minutemen League crown and #1 seed. Diamond City is expected to pull away from Egret for the Railroad League title.
At the bottom, the Oberland T-51s appear to be the CBO's lock for the #1 draft pick in the 2302 Rookie Draft. The T-51s are expected to lose 75 games, which will mean that they will average fewer than two wins per week.
The Deathclaws' Barker Cocoa is PAM's choice to run away with the Nuka-Hitter Award in the South Charles Association. Other batters expected to contend are FHE's Joe Rathmann and University Point's Tomas Jones.
PAM's pick for the Vim! Pitcher Award is the Swatters' Sheng Kawolski in a return to glory. Atom's Scruffy Taguchi and Roxbury's Nuke Laloosh are also expected to challenge for the award.
