Here's my experience, which is quite different:
Started a league in 1945 with transactions, lineups, and minors enabled. Jackie plays for Kansas City in 1945 and is signed by the Dodgers on 10/23/1945 per the transactions file.
He becomes a member of Brooklyn on that day, but sometime between then and 4/1/1946 he was relocated to Montreal (by the AI, not from a transaction).
He remains with Montreal for the first few games of the 1947 International League season, but on Opening Day in MLB a week later he's a member of the Dodgers and in the lineup (because, I assume, the lineups file has made its presence known). His history does not include a line that speaks to this event. See the screenshot, FWIW.
Paul, you didn't mention whether he showed up on KC and Montreal properly. If he did, I can't imagine why your experience after that would be any different from mine.
