In most cases it is not.
A lot of these guys are on small contracts or league minimum contracts.
On occasion you see a higher-salary guy on the wire and they usually just pass on by unless for whatever reason a high-rated player is trying to pass.
Case in point - here's a LF that's 50-55 in every hitting rating with good defense (65/80/60), league minimum, 24 years old.
Not sure why they are waiving him, but also not sure why there's no claims on him.
And here's a .400 team playing a LF with 45/50/35/40/45 ratings and similar defense and 3 years older. And since I changed the AI to add stats...this guy is posting a -0.4 WAR....
So...idk... on a lot of levels
For what reason would the waiver player NOT be a better option?
