The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the signing of center fielder Chris Gibbs to a four-year contract worth $58.6 million.
Gibbs, 31, has spent the last seven seasons with Toledo. He broke into the majors in 2031 as a member of the Springfield Railers.
The deal is worth $13.6 million in 2039, $14.6M in 2040 and $15 million in 2041 and 2042.
The deal has a player opt out after the 2040 season. It has a team opt out after 2041.
Gibbs hit .200 with 21 homers, 55 RBIs and 93 runs scored in 156 games (148 starts) for Toledo in 2038.
For his career, he is a .233 hitter with 140 homers, 385 RBIs and 552 runs scored in 868 games (814 starts).
