I like playing manual games. I especially like playing historical games. I really enjoy using various mods like silvam14's ballparks and uniforms but I always wanted a look of historical baseball when they had both black shoes and colorful stockings below their shorter pants.

I am not a graphics pro but I fiddled around on GIMP with various pants templates (perhaps originally by Jorin) to attempt historical 1955 pants. Some were plain, some were with one stripe, and some had pinstripes. All had stockings with some being plain while most of the others had various colored stripes. All had stirrups on the stockings and white sanitary socks showing in front and back below the stockings in the area of the stirrups. All were made for black shoes which required some modification to my pants template.

Anyway, I placed on Mediafire a zip folder which has both home and away pants for all of the sixteen 1955 MLB teams. After unzipping you are free to try these pants in manual games. One added file in the unzipped folder is black_shoes.webp. Rename the shoes.webp file in ballparks/misc/player textures to something like orgshoes.webp and paste black_shoes.webp into ballparks/misc/player textures and rename it to shoes.webp. Now all your teams will be wearing black shoes which makes my 1955 pants look better within the limits of the existing player model. (You can always go back to white shoes with a process similar to how I changed shoe color in the first place.)

Trying to create short pants with stockings and stirrups is not perfect because the player model is based upon long pants and so trying to create shorter pants looks a bit funny below the knee down to the shoes. Using black shoes with my 1955 pants made for black shoes kind of improves the view if you squint a little bit.

If you are adverse to trying these kind of things you might be willing to take a look at how my 1955 pants with black shoes look while playing manual games. I have a number of sample 1955 OOTP23 games at YouTube and more on Twitch (search videos by kcstengelsr).

I do hope some enjoy this wild stab of mine at historical 1955 pants. My artistic skills are limited and the player model prevents really good results, but I think I now prefer playing my 1955 manual games with my pants and black shoes compared to playing 1955 manual games with the default long pants and white shoes. Form your own opinion.
