You'd need something on the Player Editor, accessible to non-commissioners, that overwrote the uniform settings. The same way individual strategy can overrule team strategy.

The game asks "Who do you play for new HoF member?", The game responds, "Phillies", it then asks "What do those Phillies wear for uniforms", and it looks to the one place there is an answer. But if you had a player toggle/loading area to load a cap and jersey direct to the player, the game would come back to the first question with a different answer just for that player. So when your HOF ballot appears, you ought to edit anyone on it and load those caps and jerseys - just in case they get elected - because likely once that picture is taken for the plaque, it's done.

Now, that kind of process could get wonky if one starts to give every player different uniforms in the main game until it's a circus out there, but I suppose All-Star games do this a bit with caps. Maybe it's grayed-out until retirement if that can be done. Anyway, just trying to think aloud of how it could happen.

I love the HoF elections. That's part of the reason I'd like the game to go back and create ballots for select twenty year intervals (so if player X debuted in some particular 20 year range), take the HoF milestones less X% and rerun for me a HoF ballot of Y players. A veterans committee as it were done every five years or something.
