When the game is crashing during 3d play, one possibility is that some animations are not properly loaded. So if you go to settings > troubleshooting > and click on the button to force reinstall game data, that might fix things. On Steam you'd do this by right clicking on the game in Steam, then going to properties > local files > verify local files.
If that doesn't solve things, if you can provide a trace file, that might help us figure things out here:
