No problem. It does work quite well in the modern 3d game. Under your lineups screens widget, there is a bullpen box, and you can see who is warming up. This makes it easy to keep an eye on and know what is happening in your pen. If they disappear it means they have sat down to conserve energy. You can check their status by simply getting them back up and they will either still show warm or they won't. If they are still warm they will sit back down on their own.
