Same thing happened with trying to trade a player. Complaints that "It took too long." They did not want to waste time clicking on 29 teams, there should be a feature that does that for us. And so there is. It work's the way it does for a reason, a "time saver". IOW exactly as it was designed to work. It has nothing to do with realism and never did.  |
You know the [true] Richie Ashburn story, don't you? He was notorious for fouling off numerous pitches, until he walked or got one to hit. One game his foul ball knocked some poor lady cold. Later on in the at bat, as she was being carried out on a stretch, he hit her again. It's only funny because she was apparently okay, and of course got a signed ball.
