Shutout for Maisch, Lillie heating up

Eric Maisch, who was the MGL Harris/Lee award winner in 1982, having started very slowly in 1986 has been trending in the right direction since early May, and yesterday hurled probably his second best start of the year, shutting out the Portland Wild Things on 4 hits.

Rookie right fielder Jerry Lillie has also been trending in the right direction after a somewhat slow start. Lillie (.279/.403/.575), led the way on offense in the win, going 3 for 4, hitting his 13th double and 2nd triple of the season and scoring twice.

Another younger outfielder, Javier Hernandez (.275/.343/.413) has also been hitting better and he went 2 for 4 in this one.
