All in all a good first half for the 2027 Rays. The MLB standings/leaders:
A look at our team stats:
It's nice the see the offense has bounced back from its abysmal 2026, although we still need to do a little better job of converting our baserunners into runs. The starting pitching has been elite, but the bullpen has been spotty to put it charitably. The arms are mostly good but the results haven't been there. The defense being atrocious isn't helping either as we have no defenders who can be considered top-notch with Robles in CF and Kjerstad in LF the best. The individual batting stats:
Plenty to like here for a change as
Andrew Greckel is putting up MVP-worthy numbers and
Adley Rutschman has turned it on in his contract year. Wander will be missed, and hopefully
Victor Robles can get going as we're stuck with him on that big contract.
Kody Hoese has kind of settled 1B down - he's not a true masher but has been good enough. The individual pitching stats:
James Hays' numbers are downright pornographic and May and Ryan have been very good although the latter has been helped by some BABIP luck but at least he's done a much better job of keeping the ball in park this year. None of the relievers are downright horrible but none of them have been really good either.
