All-Star Break 2027

For some reason this year I didn't get the email listing the All-Star rosters so I won't be posting that here as I usually do. Five Rays did make the game: the terrific trio of starters James Hays, Dustin May and Joe Ryan along with C Adley Rutschman and OF Andrew Greckel. It was the first All-Star nod for Hays and Greckel, the second for May and Ryan, and the fifth for Rutschman. Greckel was selected to participate in the Home Run Derby, and well...

In both this save and the other one, which now have combined for 32 seasons, I've never had a Ray win the Derby and Greckel didn't even come close.

On to the game:

The Rays' representatives acquitted themselves very well. As you saw from the recap above, Adley Rutschman was named MVP of the game thanks to a 2nd-inning solo homer and a single, Andrew Greckel had an RBI single in the 8th to put the AL up 3-1, and Dustin May had a perfect inning in relief. Joe Ryan and James Hays didn't pitch.
