There's supposed to be a safety check to prevent that from occurring, but it sounds like there may be a loophole somewhere that's letting it happen. Does it always seem to involve a pass into the offensive zone? That sounds like one or more of the offside guys aren't being disqualified as potential pass targets as they should be, I'll have a look at the logic there.
