The youngish C is a lefty hitter, so good there from a platoon perspective. Donaldson is over-the-hill, but his hill was high, so perhaps OK for next season. K-F seems to be a much better hitter than Urshela and likely much better defensively at SS.
Will this be enough to get Olson from the A's, or sign Freeman?

And there goes Olson....
Looking more like Rizzo may come back.
My take on the trade is positive but more so because they finally let Sanchez leave. I'm sorry but catcher defense, and pitch framing, is so much more valuable then a slugging catcher missing those qualities. I think Sanchez may have great value now that there is universal DH. Put him on a team where he can be a backup catcher and DH and I think he will actually do well.
So for the trade itself i'm curious what it would have taken to just get IKF. Did the Yanks have to take on the Donaldson contract to get him? I do value players that can play multiple positions like DJ. Just wish the Yanks didn't need to take on the money since they are a little more "Cheap" compared to that of the Bosses years.
I do think they should try to trade Voit and maybe the catcher they just got for a catcher that is a little more balance. I love Higgy on the team but as a starting catcher not so much.
