Ok, I have come looking for answers...

I have tried to search the internet for my answers and in this case, I have not found them on any site or video yet.

Problem: my relief pitchers will lose games where I have a 1 or 2 run lead. I have almost come to expect it. This is starting to annoy me.

Here are some settings I use:

I'm playing modern day rules with a fictional league of players.

My ratings are 1 to 10. I suspect that if a guy is rated "7", he could be a "71" or a "79". I use this rating system because I was used to it in an older version of OOTP and I'm familiar with it.

I use the "one pitch" method.

I have "warmup pitcher" rule off. Thing is if I didn't know any better the way the RP blows leads almost all of the time, I'm thinking the game still thinks that rule is on. Now most of my RP's are 7 (STU) 6 (MOV) 6(CON) on average. I have a few that are higher. I try to save my best ones for the 8th inning, and my CL for the 9th (just putting it out there) in the close games but this season has been brutal. I also notice that a lot of times, I will get the first 2 batters out and then the bad stuff starts to happen.

I'm not attempting to drag the game. What I am picking up on by watching the videos of other players is that the game of baseball has statistically changed than when I was watching more closely. I'm just wondering if a reliever is only supposed to face a few batters and then come out, rather than try to pitch an entire inning?

I have noticed (this is new to me so let me put that out there) that a pitcher (RP) must face maybe 3 batters before he can be switched? Sometimes he's walked a batter and given up runs and with 0 outs you dread sending someone else in.

I just want to know if this sounds familiar and am I missing something obvious. The game is plenty complex, and I have spent a lot of time reading websites, blogs, and watching videos on all sorts of things that I have had questions on but this particular one I can't find a thing on. That leads me to believe I am missing something here.

Any help would be appreciated.
