I think the process goes something like this, jg2977. Or at least this may be how it has often gone for me, at times, in relation to various dynasties of mine. Try to follow along as best as you can, please, and I'll try to be as clear as possible here, in return.
1. If it isn't already loaded up and all, load the appropriate dynasty game in question here. In this case, of course, it would be your IPA-related dynasty here.
2. You should see a top bar with the magnifying glass icon, I believe. Type in at least part of the name for the person or persons or team or teams you may be looking for here. That should soon kick up another screen matching your search criteria, it seems to me. In this case, we'd look, for instance, for Freeman.
3. The next screen that should appear should have sections for matching players, matching coaches/scouts, and matching teams. The section we'll want, if GC hasn't yet been made a coach, would be the middle section. If he has, then we'll have to figure out what to do for him as a coach, after we unretire GC, if we can, of course. Each section will show the name, team (if applicable), and league (if applicable) for the results meeting the desired search criteria.
4. Next, if you see his name listed, as you no doubt should, click on his name. That should then take you to his main profile page, after which we'll do the next step here, I believe.
5. Okay, now that we've done that, go to the action section on the right of the screen and click on it. That should open a list of potential action categories. Once you see that list, you'll need to click on Unretire Player, if that option is visible. Once that action is confirmed and done, GC should then be put into the Free Agent pool, I believe, which will lead to the next step in the process here.
6. If he is in the Free Agent pool, you will then need to find him in the pool, and then enter the Editor section for his profile to continue. Once you have found him and clicked on his name again, so that his profile will pop up again, you will need to go to the Editor tab as stated just now.
7. Once in the Editor section, look for the Team Information, Select new Team section. Choose the appropriate league, and then the appropriate team for him, which in this case would be Glasco. I think you would have to do this before you set the contract-related details, but I'm not entirely sure about that at the moment, to be honest.
8. If he gets put on Glasco as planned and all here, then we can proceed with the next step here, most likely. If his assignment to Glasco takes sufficiently well, then go down to the Salary Data section of the Editor.
9. Once the type of contract is set to Major League Contract and that sticks well enough here, then go to the next line and set the Contract as being signed in year 1978 on the applicable line, before hitting Enter. Then fill in each of the following lines as needed and as appropriate. Starting with setting the length of the desired contract in question, which in his case should be no more than one or two years, I think. Then set what year of the contract it is, on the next line. In this case, it would be the first, if not only, year of the applicable contract. Fill in the appropriate salary details for the desired length of the contract on the appropriate lines, until you get to the non-trade clause line. Seeing as we don't want the AI to potentially trade GC, of course, after we've put him back on the Athletics, you will need to check that box, for sure.
10. That should take care of everything that needs to be taken care of on the left side of the Editor screen, supposing he doesn't have any existing injuries for himself, et cetera, I think. Then you should be able to go to the right side of the screen, and start adjusting his numbers and all here as needed and as desired, like usual for any player you may want to adjust the values for in the game.
11. Once on the right side of the screen, you can adjust certain values as needed and as desired and as appropriate, even his pitching ratings and all, for example. Once that is done, and everything sticks, supposing the AI doesn't dump him and all, of course, we can adjust things related to his playing time and all through the Action Menu or various other game screens, at least, I believe.
12. Once he is back on the Celtics to stay, then you can go to Set Game Strategy, or whatever allows you to set strategy options for various players in-game, and click on that tab. That should allow you to set the relevant details for him, as desired, supposing the AI doesn't have the ability to do certain things for Glasco, of course, in the relevant team control settings, I think. In GC's case, we will want to have him both used as a two-way player and locked solely to Glasco. That will allow him to remain on Glasco as long as he is on the roster, and it will also allow him to be able to pitch, as well.
13. Once all the relevant steps have been taken as described, hopefully that will allow him to remain on Glasco as long as desired and all, or at least for the rest of the current season, I expect, if not longer.
I hope all these instructions here are as clear as possible for you, for sure. And you certainly will want to keep these instructions in mind, and perhaps even written down, for future reference, if you ever want to go into the editor again and move certain players to certain teams at times without necessarily having to trade them and all. Please let me know if these instructions allow you to ensure the desired result here for GC. IF they work well enough for our purposes with GC, then they should likely work for any other player in your IPA's game world, I believe. Thank you again for your time and all, of course, jg2977. CD out.
