Walkers news: August 11 -- St. Louis 10, Louisville 1

Record: 63-47, 1st, 5.5 GA Des Moines
St. Louis sent nine batters to the plate in the first inning -- scoring four runs -- to set the tone for a 10-1 rout of Louisville at Busch Stadium (2006).
Beginning with a lead-off single by Bob Saavedra off Sluggers starting pitcher Esteban Serna, the River Walkers had six of their first seven hitters reach base.
Included in that was a two-run double by Nick Shaw, he would go 4 for 4 in the game with three doubles, a homer and five RBIs, an RBI double by Mark Waterson and a run-scoring single by Jackson Miller.
Saavedra made it 5-0 when he led off the bottom of the second with his 13th homer of the season.
Shaw cranked his 19th homer of 2037, also a solo shot, this one off Hugh Fisher in the sixth to push the St. Louis lead to 6-0.
David Morales provided the lone Louisville run in the top of the seventh with a homer off Walkers starting pitcher Josh McDonald.
McDonald (6-6) had a good outing, allowing the one run on five hits in 6.1 innings. He struck out four and walked two.
Maximilliano Minelli finished off the seventh.
Brett McVey worked the final two innings for the Walkers, not allowing a run.
St. Louis made it lopsided with a four-run bottom of the seventh.
Mark Herman had an RBI single off reliever Clyde Rayner.
Shaw capped the scoring with a two-run double.
