Radcliffe, Ted

"Double Duty" (because he would often pitch one and catch the other game in DHs) Radcliffe was not the most talented player, but from all reports he was one of the most colourful.

A rare player who gets both hitting and pitching MLEs, I have treated him like the true two-way player he was, rather than have one supplant the other over the course of his career.

One has to ignore the mythology for players like Ted. The fact is he was a good but not great ballplayer in both facets of the game. SH has allocated 11.7 career WAR, if that's anything to go by and EC has him at 11.2 pWAR and 6.3 bWAR.

Very flat profile given he was a 26-yo rookie. Live to a ripe old 103, God bless him!
