The AI should be able to take into consideration who they are playing, or more importantly who they are making a trade to. As the Boston Red Sox, I should not be able to make a trade for a key piece from the New York Yankees, or vice versa. If I'm a high ranking team in the AL, I shouldnt be able to make a trade to a high ranking team in the NL who I might meet in the World Series for one of their key players.
With all of the iterations of this game one franchise's opinion should be able to be taken into consideration for almost every decision. If I'm playing as the mid 2000's Red Sox and Derek Jeter hits free agency I should have to pay more for him, or not be able to sign him at all because of his potential opinion of my franchise.
This is LONG overdue.

I've suggested in past years. Would like to see ability to set 2 or 3 rivals in team settings. Things possibly affected by rivals/rivalry games: Owner goals/satisfaction; attendance levels/fan interest; likelihood of news articles and possibly brawl, greater effect on team chemistry/morale, trading difficulty/free agency signing.
