MERAUX TAKES TOP SPOT IN SI SECONDARY LEAGUE, ANDERSON FALLS A GAME BEHIND
The Meraux Tigers are now the undisputed leader in the South Island Secondary League... they defeated the 3rd place Littleville Supermen 5-1 Sunday and then got a lot of help from the 5th place Columbia Black Cats, who upset the Anderson Ravens 8-3 in 10 innings... Meraux is one game up on Anderson in the pennant race... the Supermen are 2 games off the pace in a 3rd-place tie with New Yerby... the Yankees squeezed by Grin Hill 3-2... 4 clubs are deadlocked for the 5th spot in the standings with 4-4 marks... Gull Lake shut out the Parkland Perfectos 7-0 and are tied with Billings, Grin Hill and Columbia... Braxton knocked off Billings 3-1 and Cherrywood rapped the Delacroix Cubs 9-3 in other games... the Perfectos, Bruins and Stouts are all in the league basement,
