First of all, I am old school when it comes to uniforms, but I know the bottom line is "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

PSUColonel, I agree with you... I much prefer a team staying with its original colors... adding black really create a lot of poor-looking uniforms in my opinion.

The Oregon Ducks wearing solid black jerseys and pants with a little green and yellow trim are atrocious IMO... ditto the Northwestern Wildcats and many other teams that do it.
Not crazy about the Mets' black jerseys.

I don't think the teams do it for beauty and good color contrast... they do it tell sell more jerseys.

My alma mater is the University of New Orleans... colors are Blue and Silver... our club football team in the late 1960s used uniforms that looked just like the Dallas Cowboys.

Recently we had an athletic director at UNO who added red trim to the jerseys... I contacted him and asked when did the school change its colors... he never replied.
