Home Run Derby: Despite fielding two of the entrants, OH HONG and Satoru Ono, both of whom were bounced in the 1st round, we’d have to sit idly by as Pittsburgh’s Mack Ramirez won the derby by one TRUCK over Portland’s Benjamin Compton.

Buffalo’s Roddy Dubey (7-6, 2.24) @ Brooklyn’s Bradley Hughes (10-4, 1.23)
AL wins, 6-3. Mack Ramirez had himself a weekend, winning the HR Derby and following that up with a 2-run TANK during the game itself, while 1B Paulo Legna, representing Detroit of the AL, hit a 3-run JACK that put the American League up for good during the top of the 5th. None of our guys secured a hit, though our hurlers gave a solid account of themselves with both Grumpy & Estevez putting in 1 hitless inning of work while fanning 2 each, respectively.

Detroit’s 1B Paulo Legna took home the Player of the Game hardware…

A Trade Proposal: Odd that it comes from our next opponent, but… the Philadelphia Founders want to send RP Better Call Saul Guzman back to Los Angeles for 3 minor leaguers in 1B Nemo Tejeda, LF Joshua Green, and C Jeff Washburn. It’s a no-go, not because Saul can’t help us, he can, and not because I’d be giving up too much, I wouldn’t… but because I don’t want to deal with reorganizing the pen for a piece that isn’t much better than what I already have there… plus he’s 35-years-old.

Up Next: We’re back at it with a 4-game series, at home, against Palmer Parker and his Philadelphia Founders.
