There is ample data out there that would allow one to lock in certain personality types to certain players are surely as the players' stats are tied to them.
Clemente isn't a cancer. Cobb is. Just lock it in place. It's a lot of SABR bio reading, so hire an intern. Or farm it out to the community board here on a sticky. Or get a core group of veteran board members to research it and reach consensus. I'm a Sox fan. Jason Varitek was a Captain. Pedroia a sparkplug or leader. Manny was a cancer I'd still endure to have his production at the plate. I think this is something the community could do but unless the information will get used, ... we won't... and we'll just keep turning off that part of the game...

Not to say that these aren't valid points when it comes to historic players; in my MLB starts, it gives another dynamic to the game, as I eventually, have a lot of fictional players if I continue the save past present day.
