Select Bryan Reynolds
I am totally amazed at the prices for the cards for the Pittsburgh Historical Select mission. You need 8 cards for a mission that yields you a 95 OVR OF that you'll never use and is for sale in the AH in the mid-30's and has been at that price for weeks. If you get that card, it completes the set of 5 cards required to get Willie Stargell, a platoon OF/1B who strikes out too much to use at higher levels and is available in the AH in the upper 30's, and if you get Stargell and 4 other guys you are entitled to a free Roberto Clemente, who has a L10 of 98K. But most of the mission cards are for sale in the upper teens, which means that I'd be lucky to do the mission for much less than the combined price of Clemente and Stargell. And even that ignores the fact that to get Clements you also have to buy Banks, Bench, Sheets, and Hornsby.
I wanted to get Clemente, and didn't particularly value completing the mission to enable me to get Dahlen (I've seen him in the AH in the low 30's) since I am doing OK with Vaughan platooning with Appling. So I just bought Reynolds. Is Dahlen so valuable that I should spend over 100K just to get him (and sell the duplicate Reynolds for 35 K or so, meaning that my outlay for Dahlen would be somewhere around 75K)?
